Since my article on Zoroark-GX/Lycanroc-GX/Weavile I have gone to two cups, and a league challenge and earned points at all of them with the deck. So, in this article, I'm going to showcase the list that I played, talk about my match ups, and mention changes going forward with the Frankfurt regional championship results in consideration.

Oakville, ON League Cup 14th Place Deck List

This is the list I played for the first cup. From the list from the article I took out Tapu Koko due to a lack of bench space, the 3rd Rockruff, the second Judge and the friend ball because of predicted meta. I added a second Weavile to stream them more often, A third Lillie to improve the early game, a second Timer Ball to replace Friend Ball, and a Pal Pad after a lot of games where I needed 1 more of a supporter to secure the game.

Round 1 VS Muhamed Palatanius w/Buzzwole/Lycanroc-GX

I went first and was able to get off a turn 2 Claw Slash and target down his Slugmas and Rockruffs. I dodged his Sledgehammer turn and he whiffed Beast Ring on his Beast Ring turn. 1-0

Round 2 VS Joshua De Jesus w/Malamar/Marshadow-GX

I set up two Zoroark-GX with Weakness Policies and two Weavile allowing me to just stream knockouts on any threat he tried to set up. 2-0

Round 3 VS Ali Pouradabi w/Buzzwole/Lycanroc-GX

This time against Buzzwole I didn't get quite as lucky. I used the same strategy of taking knockouts on Rockruff and Slugma/Magcargo but I couldn't avoid the Sledgehammer turn and when I went down to it my opponent also got double Beast Ring on to two Buzzwole. 2-1

Round 4 VS Anthony Delledonne w/Malamar/Shining Arceus

This game was close in the mid game but one turn he missed the return KO on a Weavile and I was able to spiral control into my favor from there. 3-1

Round 5 VS ??? w/Zoroark-GX/Golisopod-GX

I got donked. 3-2

Round 6 VS Andre Chiasson w/Zoroark-GX/Lycanroc-GX

I had a slow start this game, I committed two Unit Energy and a Weakness policy to Zoroark-GX with four benched Pokemon. My opponent got the Lycanroc-GX powered up but couldn't one shot my Zoroark-GX so he pulled up my Tapu Lele-GX and used Dangerous Rogue-GX for the knockout. I drew out of my dead hand and responded with Trickster-GX to one shot his Lycanroc-GX. He never hit another Double Colorless Energy. 4-2

14th/52

St. Catharines, ON League Challenge 1st Place Deck List

This list was an absolute mess. The only reason I played most of the weird card counts that I did was because I forgot a lot of cards at home.

Round 1 VS Brennin Ascott w/Vikavolt/Tapu Bulu-GX

Game 1 and 2 he isn't able to get out more than one Grubbin at a time in the first few turns so I just target them down and he never properly sets up. 1-0/5-2 overall

Round 2 VS ??? w/Vikavolt/Rayquaza-GX

Game 1 my opponent plays himself down to a zero card with a powered up Rayquaza active, because he does this I pull up the benched Vikavolt and Claw Slash it knowing he doesn't have enough energy for the knockout. The next turn I knockout the Rayquaza and Judge his tempest and he never sets back up. Game 2 my opponent gets turn 2 Vikavolt and has two Ray fully powered up and when I whiff the knockout with a Weavile I scoop. so I scoop pretty quickly. In the last game I Judge the opponent's Tempest-GX and he never gets out a Vikavolt so I just knock out Rayquaza-GX's with the Riotous Beating damage boost combo. 2-0/6-2

Round 3 VS Jon Carson w/Vikavolt/Rayquaza-GX

These games play it a lot more naturally. Game 1 my opponent is forced to put down three abilities to set up well enough to deal with my Zoroark-GX then I'm able to use Weavile to gain the prize advantage and take Riotous Beating knockouts on Rayquaza-GX. Game 2 I don't Judge Tempest-GX and he targets down my Sneasels. The last game plays out similarly to the first. 3-0/7-2

1st/9

Oshawa, ON League Cup 6th Place Deck List

From my 14th place list I cut the 3rd Cynthia for a second Rescue Stretcher so that I could feel more comfortable discarding my evolution Pokemon with Ultra Ball and Trade. I also cut the Tapu Lele because I felt comfortable against Rayquaza-GX without it and I added a Mallow to hit the pieces I needed at the right times more consistently.

Round 1 VS Zach Lesage w/Buzzwole/Garbodor

My opponent is forced to open Shaymin giving me the knowledge and ability to play around it. I get my turn two Claw Slash off and am able to target down Slugmas before Magcargo comes out. My opponent isn't able to hit the combo cards he needs without the Magcargo and I Claw Slash to victory. 1-0/8-2

Round 2 VS Chris Venier w/Buzzwole/Lycanroc-GX

I got donked. 1-1/8-3

Round 3 VS Geneses Pabuna w/Malamar/Marshadow-GX

My opponent never draws into a psychic energy. 2-1/9-3

Round 4 VS Rachel Soosaipillai w/Lapras-GX/Quagsire

My opponent doesn't manage to get out any Wooper or Lapras-GX in the first few turns but she gets the turn two Sauna Blast. I take the lead but she manages to make the combo with Guzma + Lapras-GX in the late game. While she's taking prizes I'm failing to take a knockout because I've exhausted all of my gusting options and she is continuously switching between fresh attacker. Eventually she is forced to send up a Tapu Lele-GX because I'd have the one hit knockout on anything else but with only a few cards left in deck I hit the Tapu Lele-GX for Professor Kukui to Riotous Beating for 180 damage. 3-1/10-3

Round 5 VS Jeffrey Chau w/Malamar/Marshadow-GX

ID. 3-1-1/10-3-1

Top 8 VS  Chris Venier w/Buzzwole/Lycanroc-GX

Game 1 my opponent starts off with a dead hand and I take a large lead. Eventually with Beast Ring he manages to even things out and I miss the attachment on a crucial turn to lose my out to my last two prizes. Game 2 my opponent has another slower start but is able to get out his Magcargo and some attackers relatively quickly and I miss the attachment to Lycanroc-GX multiple turns in a row to form any sort of comeback. 3-2-1/10-4-1

Changes In Hindsight

I actually don't have any changes to make based on these events because overall the deck, particularly with Mallow in the list, ran very smoothly and I'm still a big fan of its position in the meta. However, taking Sylveon-GX's first place finish at Frankfurt regionals into consideration I would cut the second Cynthia for a second Judge and the 3rd Choice Band for either a second Pal Pad or a Field Blower.
